In this part, Phoenix accuses the witness of being biased, which causes her to show a photograph to prove that the murder was premeditated, because Lana wore gloves to the scene of the crime. Phoenix disproves this premeditation theory by pointing out that the defendant brought no murder weapon to the scene of the crime. Phoenix feels pretty good about disproving the premeditated murder theory, until Edgeworth points out that the question of whether or not the murder was premeditated is essentially irrelevant--their job is to find out if Lana Skye committed murder, not if she planned to.
